Recipe of Macaroni and Cheese

Macaroni and Cheese

Macaroni and cheese is a classic comfort food in the United States. It consists of elbow macaroni pasta and a creamy cheese sauce, usually made from cheddar cheese. Here is a simple recipe for making macaroni and cheese: Ingredients: - 8 oz elbow macaroni pasta - 1/4 cup unsalted butter - 1/4 cup all-purpose flour - 2 cups whole milk - 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese - Salt and pepper to taste Directions: 1. Preheat oven to 375°F. 2. Cook macaroni pasta in a large pot of boiling salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside. 3. In a separate pot, melt butter over medium heat. Add flour and whisk constantly for 2-3 minutes until the mixture becomes a paste. 4. Gradually pour in milk while whisking constantly to avoid lumps. Keep whisking until the mixture thickens, about 5-7 minutes. 5. Add in shredded cheddar cheese, salt, and pepper. Stir until cheese is melted and the mixture is smooth. 6. Add cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir to combine. 7. Pour the macaroni and cheese mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. 8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until the top is golden brown and bubbly. 9. Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
